North East Peace and Security Network
Co-Chairing: the network members adopted the co-chairing method of governance. Two organisations are elected to serve as co-chairs of which one is an international organisation and the other a national organisation. The network is currently co-chaired by Crest Research and Development Institute (CRADI).
Criteria for Co-chairing: this is based on the mandate of the organisation, experience of the organisation in peace building and governance and the commitment of the individuals representing the organisation.
Lead on developing and implementing northeast PSN strategy, coordinate northeast PSN activities, Represent the PSN in relevant coordination forums and advise the network on any follow up actions to improve the effectiveness of the network. Lead on PSN advocacy and communication initiatives.
The PSN Programme Coordinator in partnership with the PSN coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the PSN’s operational activities. S/he will provide programmatic leadership and activity coordination to implement projects identified and implemented by the network. S/he is responsible for reporting and leading the development and implementation of work plans.
Promote Cross-Organizational Learning on Peacebuilding Interventions, coordinate PSN research, learning and evaluation exercises, Support and strengthen PSN in M&E planning systems and best practices.
The Communications and Administration Officer manages the communication channels and supports the administrative functions of the secretariat of the NE-PSN. He/she develops and implements communication strategies to promote the network's messages and brand and creates content for internal and external communication channels, such as newsletters, social media, and press releases. He/she responds to inquiries from the public, clients, and stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information.
The PSN staff and the Co-chairs will be responsible for chairing and facilitating the meetings. Agenda’s will be shared to members to make input by the Co-chair or staff of the PSN days before the meeting.
The reports or minutes of the meeting will be taken by the co-chair and inputs made by the PSN staff which will later be shared to other members by the Co-chairs.
Currently meetings happen virtually through skype group calls, but before COVID 19, meetings were in person and were rotational between members to ensure ownership. We hope to return to this when possible.
